FMS629 Tidings of Comfort & Joy

Happy Thursday, peeps! I have another Christmas card for you today, since I am trying to replenish my stash! It uses Amy's sketch from FMS and the designer paper challenge from Christmas Craft Creations:

So here we go, I am on a vintage roll:

I used some papers from Simple Stories' Simple Vintage Christmas....this pad is almost gone, I've used it so much!  The top border is cut from one piece; I fussy-cut around the holly at the top and I added a little Mossy Meadow panel embossed with an embossing folder that mimicked the scallop of the lace behind it.  The lower holly pattern is another piece of DSP.

I added a sentiment from Hope and Peace, diecut with a retired oval die and layered with a Mossy Meadow scallop:

A little Cherry Cobbler soft baker's twine added a bit of embellishment.  Another sentiment from the same set on the inside:

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

Vintage Bunny Decor

Happy Wednesday, peeps! I have a quick project today---no stamping---just some diecutting, fussy-paper-cutting and a little bit of layering to make a sweet little Easter decoration!  Check it out:

This isn't real big; it's only about 3 1/2" tall.  I used the largest Excellent Egg die to cut out some digital papers that I got from Crafty Secrets almost ten years ago!  I mounted the diecut egg on another  egg diecut, cut from some sturdy cardboard, then printed out an Easter postcard from the Graphics Fairy, scaled it to fit my egg and did some fussy-cutting of the bunnies and the sentiment, which is popped up:

I added a little crochet embellishment on the top and that was it!  I did create a little easel for the back so that it could stand up easily:

I am going to enter this at Inspire.Create, where they're looking for anything but a card, as well as Shopping Our Stash, which is looking for spring and/or Easter! And Little Red Wagon is looking for animals, so I am tossing it in the ring there as well!

Thanks so much for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

GDP438 Inked & Tiled Easter

Happy Tuesday, peeps! I have an easy card today using the Inked & Tiled stamp set along with the Inked Botanicals DSP, and a wee bit of embossing!  Here's the sketch I used from Global Design Project:

I used both sides of one piece of the DSP, and did some heat embossing on the Crushed Curry side with the floral stamp and some Craft White ink and embossing powder:

To make the florals stand out a bit more, I added some loose watercoloring in Crushed Curry around the edges of the flowers and stems:

I heat embossed an Easter sentiment on a piece of Calypso Coral, again in white ink and embossing powder, then overstamped it with the word stamps from Quiet Meadow in Versamark ink, for a very faint background; hope you can see it here:

Two Iridescent Gems and it was on its way!

We'll go with some coral-hued flowers from Longwood today!

Thanks for visiting today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

AHSC570 Peace & Joy

Happy Monday, everyone! It's time for a new Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge; here we go:

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew which stamp set I wanted to use! I got this Close to My Heart set a few years ago and had hardly used it, but it was perfect for my Christmas card:

I stamped the foliage on a Basic White panel using Shaded Spruce, Soft Sea Foam and Real Red inks (the pink images are stamped second-generation in Real Red), then added a glimmer diecut sentiment from the same set:

The center panel of Basic White and Real Red was diecut with the Nested Essentials dies.  I also added some side panels of DSP and a wee little scalloped border of Soft Sea Foam.  The inside sentiment was stamped with another CTMH set:

I need to ramp up my Christmas card stamping, I used up almost all the ones I had last year!  Another to add to my stash!

I hope you'll play along with our sketch challenge....you could go springy or holiday with this one, anything goes! Share yours with us at the AHSC blog!

A few more Longwood pictures, following in the "blue" theme:

Hanging baskets of hydrangeas above; not sure what these flowers are:

And more hydrangeas in the Pierre Dupont house:

Just so pretty!  Thanks for popping in today!  Enjoy it and be blessed!

PP682 Bunny Sketch

Hi there, stamping friends! Hope your weekend is going well so far....ours has been WET---what else is new? It always seems to rain on the weekend!  But that means no drought for the summer, right?  Anyway, I am the hostess at the Paper Players this week, and I have a sketch for you! This one is one of my favorites, and I use it often! I liked it so much, I made two! Check it out:

So here's my first one; I needed another Easter card, so I used some of those cute Impression Obsession bunny dies:

I used some Country Gingham circles, diecut with the Radiating Stitches dies, and an Our Daily Bread Designs sentiment; they're all mounted on a piece of CTMH Seabrook cardstock, embossed with the Cane Weave embossing folder.

My second one uses some stitched flower dies:

I gave each flower a couple of leaves and a glimmer paper center!  A simple sentiment from Spellbinders finished it off!

I hope this sketch inspires you to make something pretty and fun!  Check out what the other designers created at the Paper Players blog and share yours there too!

Before the torrential rains came yesterday, I had a chance to go to Longwood on Friday; the morning was sunny and bright, although cool!  They have a display of blue poppies, and although they were almost finished, there were still some pretty ones.  I have to admit that the photographers were out in full force...there wasn't much room for spectators like me, but I did manage to get a couple of shots:

Their color is so vibrant! I'll have some more photos of other flowers coming up this week!  Thanks for visiting! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Happy Daisy Birthday

Happy Thursday, peeps! It's chilly today---brrrr! At least the sun is shining!  I have a sunshiney card for you today though! It's for our niece Addie's first birthday--we've only gotten to see her one time since she's been born, so I am sure she's doing all kinds of one-year-old things!  I thought the challenge at Inspired By was just adorable, so I am combining it with the FMS sketch as well as the Krafty Chicks challenge of CAS!

And here we go:

I used a retired stamp called Sweet Stuff for the daisy image, stamping the center again on a piece of Lemon Lolly and adhering it on top.  The embossed panel is also Lemon Lolly, adhered to a scallop diecut with a Scalloped Contours die.  To get the square shape, I simply cut the rectangle down and layered it to create the square.  The seam is covered by the sentiment!

The circle is popped up by a wobbler mechanism, so it really sticks out!!  In order to bring the Best Family Ever sentiment up to the same height, I layered four dimensionals under the right side of it!  The left side remains free so when it is "wobbles" the sentiment is stationery.  I am not quite sure how I am going to mail it with that popped up sentiment, LOL!  The inside sentiment is from the same set; I stamped it crooked, so I restamped and diecut a piece to adhere over top!

If we get some pictures from her birthday, hopefully I can share them!  Thanks for popping in today! Enjoy your day and be blessed!

CASC&SC533 Pastel Eggs

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I got these SU Easter Egg dies just in time to make a few more Easter cards! My card today uses the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch from my teamie Joanne, and although my eggs take up a little bit more space than what shows on her sketch, I hope she won't mind!  Here's the sketch:

And here we go:

I diecut each egg from pastel cardstocks and adhered the outlines to a polka-dot embossed panel. This is one of those times where I wish I had used adhesive paper on the back of my eggs....they did NOT want to adhere to that embossed panel!

I mixed up the inner pieces and inserted them back into the eggs and added a Close to My Heart Easter sentiment stamped in Balmy Blue.  I just hope they'll arrive to the recipient still attached to the card, LOL!  Aren't these colors pretty together? And I added some pale sequins just for fun!

Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy your day and be blessed!
